This friction folder is the real deal, made in Japan by Nagao Higonokami. It has a triple-layered SK steel reverse tanto blade with a razor sharp edge.
The blade is fully concealed in the brass handle when closed.
Currently, all Higonokami are handmade by artisan craftsman Mr. Mitsuo Nagao, the fifth generation of Higonokami maker.
Higonokami is patented. Although there are plenty of people trying to copy the design, Mr. Nagao is the only person on earth that is allowed to make the original Higonokami knife.

What is SK5 Steel? SK5 steel is produced for tools and weapons where their edge and high performance can be counted on for demanding tasks. Its property is similar to the American 1080 steel. On the HRC scale, it goes up to 65, which makes it very hard steel. It is a good, tough blade with high edge-holding ability.
