For a long time, the Roach-Bellied knife was a contemporary version of a short blade knife with a sharp point, popular in the 17th century. It was most likely named after the common Roach Fish, for its similarly round curving belly.
The hollow ground satin finish blade is made of sub-zero quenched German 4116 Stainless steel, expertly heat treated to RC 56-57, in order to give a sharp edge that is easy to maintain. Instead of the traditional wood handle, Cold Steel produces a tough injection-molded polymer, ensure the Roach Belly is more weatherproof without swelling, shrinking, rotting or cracking like its wooden counterparts. A durable polymer sheath is included, making it an ease to carry all day or on extended hunting or camping adventures.
