Fällkniven AB marks 40 years in the knife industry by launching a special version of its bestselling F1 Pilot Survival Knife, now featuring premium Elmax powder steel. The journey began in 1987 when the Swedish Air Force requested a survival knife suited for the JAS 39 Griffin system.

In August 1995, the first batch of F1 knives was delivered to the Swedish Armed Forces, with civilian sales starting the following year. The F1 quickly gained popularity as the first serious survival knife on the global market, free of unnecessary features like fishing hooks and serrated spines, yet made from advanced rust-resistant steel. This approach contrasted sharply with traditional combat and survival knife designs, as Fällkniven prioritized high-quality materials that provided strength and durability, even in cold climates.
