The BP20 houses multiple compartments including a wide opening large capacity main compartment that can easily store items such as laptops, clothes, blankets, shoes or notebooks. Various inner and outer compartments are ideal for storing smaller items like mobile phones, power banks, cameras, binoculars, first aid kits, flashlights and more. My preferred rucksack for travel photography and 2-3 day trips is the lightweight Lowepro Photo Hatchback 22L RW.
The BP 20 rucksack in comparison is a bit heavier, the zippered tracks more exposed and the rain hood is separate. It's also more expensive. But the
BP 20 does have a zipped compartment that is a perfect fit for my new DJI NEO 2 drone, with storage also for spare batteries. It has lots of velcro areas to accommodate my growing number of collectable patches eg on the arm straps and a big rectangular area on the rucksack. I can attach my Nitecore torch in its velcro pouch to the BP20's arm straps. Plus the tactical straps and webbing look cool. The BP20's back support plate makes it super comfortable when hiking in hot humid weather. And the rucksack has a tablet compartment, essential equipment for travel photography.
I wish the BP20 had side pockets for my tripods and a flask. But my new Xiaomi travel tripod has replaced the two tripods I used to carry around.It fits into a plastic slipcase that goes into the BP20. I think I will attach my water bottle outside the BP20 via a ring.
VERDICT
The BP20's versatility via its Molle system, back support plate and smaller size compared to the Lowepro Hatchback is an attractive alternative for day trips or overnighter. But for longer two or three day trips I think I will stick to my Lowepro Hatchback rucksack.
This became quickly my favorite backpack.
Well done, practical pockets. Useful molle system.
I use it mostly for day trips in the jungle but I used it already for a two days trip with bivouac as well. That was pushing it to the limits but that worked :-).
Good for Urban EDC n survival and short term camping.
