The original DON-ZDP was one of the flagship fixed blades by Rockstead. The blade shape for the Rockstead DON T-ZDP is a "Tanto-Honzukuri" with a tanto-convex grind. Similarly, their 智 CHI model features a "Tanto" blade shape, but with a straight grind known as "Tanto-Shinogizukuri." This distinctive blade shape is achieved through the use of ROCKSTEAD's special technologies, a process known to only a few knife makers. Despite this, the mirror polishing surface of "Tanto-Honzukuri" has yet to be seen. The handle design is inspired by the traditional Japanese Tanto sword (Wakizashi). Made from ebony wood with 440C guard and end cap, silver plate inlays, and decorated KOI menukis made by silver casting. The handle showcases expert craftsmanship and attention to detail. It comes with a wood micarta sheath with a leather belt and a wooden storage box. Each knife is uniquely numbered and includes a certificate of authenticity.
