Rockstead introduced an updated NEHAN in 2017, reviving a classic design by famed knifemaker Koji Hara. With modern, high-end materials, this NEHAN is a robust upgrade from the original.

The NEHAN exemplifies Japanese craftsmanship, with a ZDP-189 steel blade, mirror polish, and button-lock mechanism. Two handle options are available: "Artificial Marble" (MB) and "Ebonite" (ER), both set on titanium liners for added strength. Precision construction eliminates visible screws, giving the knife a clean, kimono-inspired look. It feels exceptionally comfortable and solid in hand, and each knife is individually numbered. With proper care, Rockstead knives maintain a sharp edge for 2-3 years.
