Rockstead produced the original NEHAN from 2007 to 2010, and in 2017, they introduced an updated version designed by renowned knifemaker Koji Hara. This new NEHAN retains the classic look of the original but uses upgraded materials, making it a more durable, high-end tool.
Exemplifying Japanese craftsmanship, the NEHAN is one of the finest folding knives available. Its blade is made from ZDP-189 steel with a traditional mirror polish and a button-lock mechanism. The handle comes in two materials: "Artificial Marble" (MB) and "Ebonite" (ER), each mounted on titanium liners for strength. Precision construction without visible screws gives it a seamless, kimono-inspired appearance. Individually numbered, it feels solid and comfortable in hand. With proper care, Rockstead knives can retain a sharp edge for 2-3 years.
